Fashion Friday: Coat Season

September 21, 2018

It looks like coat season has well and truly landed! Over the past week I have made it my mission to take out all of my winter clothes, and begin the never-ending chore of what gets to stay or what goes*.

Coats are the one item of clothing that I always find so hard to clear out. When you find one you love, it can be really hard to say goodbye! I always try and invest in at least one casual and one formal winter coat each year to keep me going throughout the season. A good coat can take you from day to night, and lets be honest, it’s all about keeping you warm. Am I getting old?

It’s safe to say that the teddy bear coat hasn’t gone away just yet and the bomber has also made a comeback. This year however, the focus seems to be on prints and patterns. Whether you are animal print or check inclined, my one piece of advice is to invest in something of high quality. This will not only ensure that you get as much wear out of it as possible, but also that it makes it into your keep pile for next year!

All of these coats are all sitting on my wish list, and now I just have to make a decision!

*I always, always give away any un-loved clothes to charity. Unless something is literally unwearable, I will not throw it in the bin. There are so many amazing places that take old clothes where they are most needed.  I have listed some that I have used in the past, but always keep your eyes out in your local area.
